50+ Tough Interview Questions - Additional Questions

After publishing my 50 Tough Interview questions, I got some feedback that there were still more questions to be answered.  I'll answer them below.  If you have an interview question you'd like answered, add the question as a comment below or send me an email.

51. Do you know any employees of our company, either professionally or socially?
Tell them.  Before the meeting, go to LinkedIn and search on the company name to see if any of your connections are associated with the company. If it's someone you know well, give the interviewer his or her name and position. If it isn't someone you know well, you can say something like "Jane Doe was a year ahead of me at school and we had a class together, but I don't think she knows me well."

52. Are you interviewing with other companies?
Answer truthfully. You should be interviewing with other companies.  If you haven't gotten any other interviews yet, say "I've got applications in at several companies and I'm hoping to arrange interviews." If they ask who the other companies are you can be straightforward and give the names.  If you'd rather not, then say "I'd rather concentrate on what I can do for you."

53. Do you have any offers?
Again, be truthful. If you have an offer, tell them. You can give the name of the company if you like.  You don't have to talk about the specific offer: "I'm not comfortable talking about the offer details because there are so many variables like the salary, benefits, vacation, job responsibilities, opportunities for advancement, and so on. Every offer has to be evaluated in full and you can be sure that if you make me an offer, I will give it serious consideration."
