Business Bootcamp for Liberal Arts Majors
Working with Other People
Humanities and Social Science grads bring special talents to the business world, including highly developed research and analytical skills. Unfortunately, many are ill-prepared for the culture shock of moving from an academic, intellectually-centered environment to the business world which can be simultaneously collaborative and competitive. Doug Kalish, entrepreneur and educator, will describe the special challenges humanists face in adapting to the business world and give you the skills needed to participate effectively in meetings and on projects. He’ll also show you how to deal with common workplace problems, how to manage hostile, critical and angry people, and how to argue and offer criticism that won’t escalate into a catfight. These are lessons that will be valuable to you today and for years to come.
